Observations of dust acoustic waves driven at high frequencies: Finite dust temperature effects and wave interference
نویسندگان
چکیده
An experiment has been performed to study the behavior of dust acoustic waves driven at high frequencies f 100 Hz , extending the range of previous work. In this study, two previously unreported phenomena are observed—interference effects between naturally excited dust acoustic waves and driven dust acoustic waves, and the observation of finite dust temperature effects on the dispersion relation. © 2007 American Institute of Physics. Linear and Nonlinear Dust Acoustic Waves in Quantum Dusty Electron-Positron-Ion Plasma
The behavior of linear and nonlinear dust acoustic waves (DAWs) in an unmagnetized plasma including inertialess electrons and positrons, ions, and mobile positive/negative dust grains are studied. Reductive perturbation method is employed for small and finite amplitude DAWs. To investigate the solitary waves, the Korteweg–de Vries (KdV) equation is derived and the solution is presented. B...
متن کاملCompressive and rarefactive dust-ion acoustic solitary waves in four components quantum plasma with dust-charge variation
Based on quantum hydrodynamics theory (QHD), the propagation of nonlinear quantum dust-ion acoustic (QDIA) solitary waves in a collision-less, unmagnetized four component quantum plasma consisting of electrons, positrons, ions and stationary negatively charged dust grains with dust charge variation is investigated using reductive perturbation method. The charging current to the dust grains ca...
متن کاملInvestigation of Dust-Ion Acoustic Waves in a Magnetized Collisional Dusty Plasma with Kappa Distribution Function for Electrons
The propagation of arbitrary amplitude dust ion acoustic waves (DIAWs) in a magnetized collisional dusty plasma including hot electrons, with kappa velocity distribution for electrons, warm ions and dust particles has been studied. In the presence of immobile massive dust particulates, DIAWs have been investigated through the Sagdeev pseudo-potential method. It is demonstrated that the amplitud...

Article history: Received 23 May 2011 Accepted 6 June 2011 Available online 14 June 2011 Communicated by V.M. Agranovich Dust heating in dusty plasmas due to thermal electric field fluctuations and dust acoustic waves is examined. It is shown that dust particles acquire large random motion in fluctuating electric fields (within dust cloud) of background plasma causing dust electrostatic pressur...
متن کاملThe Effects of Alfvén Waves and Radiation Pressure in Dusty Winds of Late-type Stars Ii: the Dust-cyclotron Damping
There are in the literature several theories to explain the mass loss in stellar winds. In particular, for late-type stars, some authors have proposed a wind model driven by an outwarddirected flux of damped Alfvén waves. The winds of these stars present great amounts of dust particles which, if charged, can give rise to new wave modes or modify the pre-existing ones. In this work, we study how...
